A little background as to our why….
This is Keeley, the heartbeat of our family. Keeley was like most 16-year-old girls, she loved life and in particular fashion, beauty and her sport, GAA. In August 2022 while on holiday, Keeley was diagnosed with a DIPG brain tumour. Her world was turned upside down and what followed was a horrendous battle for survival. During Keeley’s treatment she lost a lot of her everyday bodily functions like walking, talking, sight & swallow. Keeley greeted every day of her battle with the brightest smile and sense of humour. She lifted everyone around her while her life was slipping away. She had key mantras throughout her life, which particularly resonated during her illness.

As Keeley got weaker and realised she wasn’t going to get better, she gave her Mam one parting wish. “when I am gone, help other children like me”….
She left this life as she had lived, wanting to help others. To honour Keeley’s final wish, her Mam, Eimear in May 2024 took the plunge to launch a charity in Keeley’s honour, the Keeley D Foundation 🦋💕
Keeley D Foundation is a non-profit organisation, registered with the charity regulator, with the sole aim of offering practical support to families of children and young adults being treated for palliative cancer at home.
Help us to help others in the greatest of need at the worst of times.
