Keeley D Foundation is a non-profit organisation, with the sole aim of offering practical support to families of children & young adults being treated for palliative cancer at home. Our charity offers real support, starting with financial assistance and expanding to practical support with cleaning services at home, provision of family meals, family shopping deliveries and transportation assistance for treatment. Our care also extends to emotional support when families need someone who is available to talk to during bad days or where they may have experienced a family bereavement.
What is the Keeley D Foundation
Honouring Keeley's Memory
The charity was set up in May 2024 in honour of Keeley Durnan, who left this world in July 2023 aged just 17 years old after battling a DIPG brain tumour for a little over 11 months. Throughout Keeley’s illness she lifted everyone around her with her sense of humour and fun while her own life was slipping away day by day. Keeley’s last wish to her mother Eimear was “when I am gone, help other children like me”….
Keeley D Foundation is governed by a board of trustees and managed in line with regulations set out by the Charity Regulator. Charity regulation approval was achieved in August 2024 (RCN 20206721) and charitable tax exemption was granted in Jan 2025 (CHY23219).
